Well, I just moved to Ottawa last week and start my new job today...well, same job with the same company, but here. It was nice having last week off as there was so much going on leading up to the move it would make ones head spin. While off last week, I took the opportunity to get familiar with my new city. Of course, part of exploring a new place is being a tourist, and doing the tacky tourist things you just can't resist, like pretending you're touching the top of the parliment buildings. I never did see Mr. Harper when I was up there on Friday...thankfully!!
What I did discover is that Ottawa is a very beautiful place! I love all of the fresh flowers and foods in the byward market. I love how easy it is to navigate my way around (as I've never been known for my sense of direction)! There is wonderful shopping, plenty of green space, lot's of biking trails (must get the tire on the bike fixed); I am closer to family in Waterloo and Toronto which I'm excited about. I feel instantly at home here, especially now since I've almost finished unpacking and are therefore settled in. I just know I am going to be very happy.
